Recent projects

Some of the recent projects we have been involved in include the following -

• The co-ordination of the overall planning strategy and supporting retail impact statement in relation to a planning application for 95,000 sq ft expansion of retail floorspace at Straiton Retail Park in Midlothian for Peel Developments Ltd. The planning application was approved despite opposition from a neighbouring local authority and referral to Scottish Ministers.
• A successful appeal decision against Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park in respect of a housing development for Lawers Estate on a site in Lochearnhead which had been identified as a long standing employment site.
• The co-ordination of a planning application for a ten house development in Nethybridge for Wilburn Homes. We successfully negotiated permission following initial opposition from Cairngorms National Park Authority.
• We negotiated the submission of a late objection to the Angus Local Plan Review on behalf of Strathallan (Ardargie) Mill Ltd and succeeded in convincing the council to include the client’s site within the settlement boundary thereby increasing its future development potential.
• We have obtained planning permission and listed building consent for Allanburn Ltd following negotiations with Stirling Council and Historic Scotland. Approval has been given for the conversion of Chalmers Church in Bridge of Allan to office and housing and the erection of new build residential within the grounds of the church.
• We have received successful appeal decisions against Perth & Kinross Council for private individuals for single houses in the countryside at Stanley and Glenfarg.
